About

I believe healing happens in the space where we can be fully seen and where our whole experience is welcomed. I see therapy as a process of accompaniment and as a practice of gentle “turning toward.” My approach is grounded in a psychodynamic and relational model and is tailored to each person’s unique needs. I strive to create a compassionate space where healing and growth can unfold and where you can encounter your own wisdom and resilience. My work is also informed by my own experience of meditation and contemplative practices, and when appropriate, I incorporate mindfulness and other body-awareness practices

Before opening my private practice as a psychotherapist, I worked as an interfaith hospital chaplain, supporting patients and families facing serious illness, loss, and major life changes. That work taught me how to stay grounded and present in the midst of uncertainty, and to meet each person with genuine respect for their unique beliefs, identities, and ways of making meaning. When spiritual concerns enter the therapy room, my approach  is always non-prescriptive, non-judgemental, and inclusive

In my work, I consider the emotional, psychological, spiritual, and physical challenges that arise when life shakes our sense of self and the world around us. I am influenced by the following modalities and wisdom sources:

  • Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
  • Existential Psychotherapy
  • Polyvagal Theory
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Buddhist Philosophy
  • Dream Work
  • Mindfulness and Meditation
  • Ecotherapy

I currently live in Eugene, Oregon. In my spare time, I enjoy being silly with my son, spending time in nature with my family, and baking.
